What supervised hire actually means

Standard hire is drop-off and pick-up — we set up, you run it. Supervised hire is different: one of our trained operators stays for the full hire window. They manage the line, run the safety briefing for each new group, watch the bouncers, control rotations, and shut things down if a kid does something they shouldn't.

It's the option Jason and the team built specifically for school fetes, corporate family days, brand activations, and any event where the person hosting can't be tied to the inflatable for four hours.

When you actually need it

• School fetes and P&C events — most schools require a supervisor on inflatables. Our operator covers the council and insurance requirement automatically.
• Corporate family days and EOFY parties — your event manager runs the day; our operator runs the equipment.
• Brand activations and pop-ups — we cover the public liability and crowd management so the marketing team can focus on the brand.
• Council events and community festivals — comes with the SWMS, risk assessment and certificate of currency the council needs.
• Big birthdays (50+ kids) — when the headcount is bigger than the host can manage solo.
• Adult events with combat hires — sumo suits, bouncy boxing, gladiator joust. A sober referee makes the difference between a great story and an incident report.

What the operator does

• Arrives ahead of the event start time, sets up the inflatable, pressure-tests it
• Runs a safety briefing for every new group of users — shoes off, no rough play, group sizes
• Manages the line and the timer (typical rotation 5–10 minutes per group)
• Watches the bouncer the entire time, intervenes early when behaviour gets risky
• Stops the equipment in wind, rain or any unsafe condition
• Handles parent and kid questions so your event team doesn't have to
• Packs down at the end, clears the site, signs off the SWMS

Supervised hire pricing

Supervisor rates: $95 per hour weekday, $125 per hour Saturday, $150 per hour Sunday. 4-hour minimum. For larger events with multiple inflatables, you'll usually need 2 supervisors — we'll quote that on the day.

For larger events — school fetes, corporate days — supervisor hours can be bundled into the overall quote. Tell us about your event and we'll price it together.

Supervised hire for school fetes

Most Brisbane state schools and Catholic schools require a trained supervisor on any inflatable hired for a fete or event. The school's certificate of insurance won't usually cover an unsupervised inflatable run by a parent volunteer. We've worked with dozens of P&Cs across Brisbane Northside, Southside, Logan and Ipswich, so we know what each council and diocese needs in the paperwork.

What we send through ahead of the fete:

• $20m public liability certificate of currency
• Operator's white card and first aid certification
• Site-specific risk assessment
• SWMS (Safe Work Method Statement) for the inflatable setup
• AS 3533 compliance documentation for each piece of equipment

Supervised hire for corporate events

For corporate clients, supervised hire isn't really about safety — your venue and insurance probably cover it. It's about logistics. A 12-metre obstacle course at a family day with 200 staff and kids needs someone watching it the whole time. That's not a job for the office party committee.

Our operators have done corporate family days for property developers, mining companies, government departments and tech firms. They turn up in Brizzy uniform, brief themselves on your event run-sheet, and stay out of the way until they're needed.

How to book supervised hire

Tell us the event date, what equipment you're after, and how many hours you need someone on-site. We'll send a quote with the equipment plus the supervisor rate. For school and council events, we'll send the certificate of currency and SWMS in the same email so you can lodge your permit straight away.
